Warmest Winter Ever

These pictures are from a hike we took on Christmas Eve up Elephant Rock. It hadn’t snowed yet, so the trails were clear, the moss was growing all over tree trunks, and we saw some flowers almost blooming.

A Perfect Scottsdale Autumn

We were staying at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa. Definitely one of the poshier places I’ve ever stayed. When we left Salt Lake that morning, it was snowing on the mountains. Arriving in Arizona and seeing flowers still in bloom and palm trees swaying was a little unexpected. The resort itself had a sprawling green golf course, and the air was scented with some unidentifiable plant I spent days trying to find. (I literally walked around the hotel and smelled every leaf I could and couldn’t figure it out.)

Another Potter Party

We’re lucky enough to have a bunch of friends who are Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fanatics with us. Like, let’s-get-together-and-have-marathons-at-least-twice-a-year friends. So we randomly decided to have a Harry Potter night. Megan and Caleb hosted, and we were all in charge of bringing some sort of treat related to Harry Potter.
