Once again, headed back to Main Street. You’re getting to know Bountiful’s Main Street quite well. To read more about what happens on Main Street, check out here, here, or here. 🙂 Anyways, another annual tradition is the Main Street Sidewalk Days. Actually, here is the Bountiful Main Street Facebook page which will tell you all about everything I’ve blogged on. When Sidewalk Days happens, all the stores put out their merchandise on the sidewalk, a radio station comes and hosts the event, and there are great sales all around. I really should go to some place other than The Book Garden on Main Street, because there are many cute stores and food places I should go experience. But The BOOK GARDEN, guys! Doesn’t the name just sound inviting enough? Colton and I are obsessed with books. We have five shelves of books in our library (a.k.a. our front living room. And we’re never moving, that would totally suck boxing up and moving all those books.) We frequent this used bookstore where we can trade in or sell books, and always find great deals on books.
So during Sidewalk Days, why would we go anywhere but The Book Garden? The inside is literally stacked floor-t0-ceiling with books. The smell of old and new novels and musty encyclopedias is one of the best smells in the world. We’ve spent hours in there perusing each shelf in search of a new treasure to take home. There are two floors to the store, and downstairs you can see how many boxes of books they are always bringing in.
Each little alcove has a bench or stool so you can reach the tippy tops of the shelves, or pause and read a chapter or two of the book.
The employees there are always super willing to help you look for something, and The Book Garden’s website (http://bookgarden2.com) also has an online inventory for you to search for or reserve books.
They also had some antiques for sale outside during Sidewalk Sales which are fun to go through. If you’re in need of a good book, you should definitely stop here. Or maybe not… then there will be that many more books for me!
